Welcome to the Yankton Area Ice Association Figure Skating program and the www.yanktonice.org website.  Registration  is open for the 2020-21 season.  Please check out the links on the left for any information regarding the Figure Skating program or please don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions.

1st Calendar pickup and equipment checkout Oct 19-22 

Pre-Season Ice Oct 19-Oct 24

Try Learn-to-Skate for free October 31, 11am-12pm

Figure Skating Parent Meeting October 29 @ 6pm (Zoom)

1st day of Group Lessons Oct 26

NOVEMBER

Learn-to-Skate Classes start Nov 14 (See Weekly Schedule)

Initial Testing Day 1st two weeks in November
(Note: skaters who registered for LTS but tested up to Pre-Alpha must pay full price of Pre-Alpha class for the season. Skaters who registered for Alpha who test up to Beta must pay full price of Beta for the season)

Competition Informational meeting for parents -to be announced- November

Sign-up Deadline for Holiday Program November 15 

Holiday Program planning meeting -to be announced - November

New Ulm Competition - November 21-22 

**There will be no group lessons the week of Thanksgiving (November 25th – 29th). Practice ice will be available for skaters in Pre-Alpha and above during regular scheduled lesson times except on Thanksgiving Day**

DECEMBER

Holiday program dress rehearsal December 2 7:30-9:30pm

Holiday program December 4th @ 6:30 p.m.

Costume Measurements before & after group lessons -to be announced - December 

Year-End Performance Planning Meeting -to be announced- December – All parents requested to attend.

Test/Assessment Day & Final Performance Costume Measurements for all skaters– To be Announced - December 

(this test will determine which group the skaters will be in for the year-end performance). Note: skaters who registered for LTS but tested up to Pre-Alpha must pay 1/2 price of Pre-Alpha class for the 2nd ½ of the season. Skaters who registered for Alpha who test up to Beta must pay ½ price of Beta for the 2nd ½ of the season.

Costume planning and purchasing Meeting –To be Announced - December

Practice ice and private lesson ice available December – January during figure skating lesson times-see schedule 

JANUARY

Brookings Competition – Prairie Polar Blast-not announced yet

2nd session starts – to be announced-January

Costume fittings for all groups immediately before/after regular scheduled classes- to be announced - January

Luverne Competition Ice Crystal Classic –January 15-17, 2021

Performance Pictures – to be announced-January

Sign-up Deadline for Special Groups and Opening Number for year end performance – to be announced-January

Performance Practices Start /Special Group/Opening number practices on Wednesday evenings-to be announced-January

FEBRUARY

Blaine Competition Feb 5-7th, 2021 
No lessons or practice ice due to Yankton Squirt Tournament – To be Announced
Performance Program completed (Need all pictures and program layout completed) – 2nd week in February

MARCH

No lessons or practice ice due to Peewee State Tournament –To be Announced 

Year End Performance Dress Rehearsal – to be announced- March 

Year End Performance – to be announced - 2 dates in March 

2nd session ends– to be announced - March  (this test will determine which level you will register for next season)

Sioux Falls Competition – March 13 &14 2021

Year-end banquet/Equipment Check in/Family Skating Party – to be announced -March
