Yankton Competitive Figure Skaters brought home the second place trophy Jan. 17-18 from the Ice Crystal Classic Competition in Luverne, Minnesota.

Eight skaters participated in 24 different events bringing home nine first places, 10 second places, seven thirds, eighth fourths and two fifth places. The events they participated in were Stroking, Solo Compulsory, Footwork, Light Entertainment Spotlight, Character Spotlight, Dramatic Spotlight, Rhythmic Hoop, Rhythmic Ribbon, Interpretive, Jump & Spin and an Individual 1-2 minute originally choreographed program in the skater's level.

Participating skaters were Madeline Binder, Katie Bratberg, Mariah Dather, Kasey Erickson, Elise Heiman, Danielle Herrlein, Jacquelyn Pajl and Eva Paulson.

The competition was hosted by the Blue Mound Figure Skaters. New Ulm, Buffalo, Huron, Sioux Falls and Yankton Figure Skating Clubs all participated.

Coaches for our Yankton Team were Brittney Richters and Morgan Privett.

Our Yankton Figure Skaters did an awesome job and we are very proud of them. Next up... the Frost Blades Competition in Blaine, Minnesota, Feb. 6-8.

Watch the Yankton Figure Skaters preform an energize group routine between halftime at the Watertown-versus-Yankton boys’ varsity hockey game Friday Jan. 30. The JV game starts at 6:15 p.m. and varsity at 8 p.m.
