T.J. Nolan scored three goals and added an assist to lead Rushmore to an 11-2 victory over Yankton in boys’ hockey action on Sunday at Alcoa Arena.

Jack Oberg and Anthony Petrotto each had two goals and two assists for Rushmore. Tom Gioia had two goals and an assist in the win.

For Yankton, Tim Cross had a goal and an assist. Ethan Klimisch scored the other Yankton goal.

Matthew Habbe stopped 14 shots in goal for Rushmore. Tyler Wenande made 28 saves for Yankton.

Yankton hosts Huron on Dec. 20. Start time is set for 5 p.m.

RUSHMORE 10, YANKTON 2: Anthony Petrotto scored four goals, three in the first period, and had an assist in a 10-2 victory over Yankton in boys’ hockey action on Saturday.

T.J. Nolan and Owen Leberknight also had two goals each for Rushmore. Jack Oberg had a goal and three assists in the win.

Colby Benson and Austin Barger scored goals for Yankton. Mitchell Vavra, Jackson Somsen and Jacob Hubbs had assists.

Taran Tucker made 11 saves in goal for Rushmore. Cristian Slate made 25 saves for Yankton.

JV Boys

RUSHMORE 4, YANKTON 2: Damon Leier had a goal and an assist to lead Rushmore past Yankton 4-2 in JV boys’ hockey action on Sunday.

Three other players had goals for Rushmore. Three other players also had assists, as seven players had points for the Thunder.

Tate O’Hara and Cody Perakslis scored goals for Yankton. Jackson Somsen and Caid Koletzky had assists in the effort.

Alex Robin made 16 saves for Rushmore. Remington Weiland made 23 saves for Yankton.

Yankton hosts Huron on Dec. 20. Start time is set for 3 p.m.

RUSHMORE 7, YANKTON 1: Seven different players each scored a goal as the Thunder beat Yankton 7-1 in JV boys’ hockey action on Saturday.

Samuel Delvaux and Isaiah Helsdon each had a goal and an assist for Rushmore. Seth Dikoff had three assists and Damon Leier had two assists for the Thunder.

For Yankton, Oakley Palmer scored the lone goal.

Alex Robin made nine saves in the win. Remington Weiland made 28 saves for Yankton.

JV Girls

YANKTON 3, SIOUX CENTER 1: SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Yankton improved to 3-1 on the season with a 3-1 victory over Sioux Center on Friday.

Erica Westerman scored two goals and Samantha Straatmeyer had a goal for Yankton. McKenna Van Winkle and Abby Weber added assists in the win.

Katie Movick scored the Sioux Center goal.

Renee Cross earned the win in goal, stopping 12 shots. Meysa Waring had 18 saves for Sioux Center.

Yankton travels to Mitchell on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Bantam

SIOUX FALLS 5-3, YANKTON 4-2: Sioux Falls scored a pair of one-goal victories over Yankton in bantam hockey action on Saturday at Alcoa Arena.

In the opener, a 3-2 decision, Dylan Ohling led Sioux Falls with two goals and an assist.

For Yankton, Jack Schoenfelder and Jaxon Erickson had goals.

Ty Hanish stopped 15 shots in goal in the victory. Isaac Nedved made 12 saves for Yankton.

In the nightcap, Nathan Wick scored 2:57 into overtime to give the Flyers a 5-4 victory.

Keegan Lafollette had a goal and an assist for Sioux Falls.

For Yankton, Schoenfelder and Jace Kapla each had two goals, with Schoenfelder also recording an assist. Trevan Brown and Zachary Rohde also had assists.

Hanish stopped 11 shots in goal for Sioux Falls. Caleb List made 16 saves for Yankton.

PeeWee

C — OAHE 2, YANKTON 1: FORT PIERRE — Carson Palmer and Spencer Fravel each scored goals as Oahe topped Yankton 2-1 in peewee ‘C’ hockey action on Sunday.

For Yankton, Austin Wagner scored off an Eli Kapla pass.

Spencer Kelly stopped 19 shots to earn the victory in goal. Christopher Sternhagen made 39 saves for Yankton.

Yankton, 2-4, hosts Sioux Center for a doubleheader on Saturday, Dec. 20.

B — YANKTON 4-9, SIOUX FALLS EAST 2-1: SIOUX FALLS — Yankton scored 13 goals in a doubleheader sweep of Sioux Falls East in peewee ‘B’ hockey action on Saturday.

In the opener, Christian Budig, Christian Curran and Brody Burgeson each had a goal and an assist as Yankton won 4-2. Thomas Wiener scored the other Yankton goal in the win.

Caden East and Sebastion Althoff had goals for Sioux Falls East.

Ryan Eichacker made 27 saves in goal for the win.

In the nightcap, Wiener had three goals and Zach Roesler had two goals as Yankton rolled to a 9-1 decision.

Burgeson, Curran, Budig and Steven Dempsey each had a goal and an assist for Yankton. Luke Schulz and Glenn Anderson had assists in the win.

Dawson Miller scored the lone Sioux Falls East goal.

Eichacker made 17 saves in goal in the victory.

Yankton travels to Huron on Saturday, Dec. 20.

C — YANKTON 2, OAHE 0: Christopher Sternhagen stopped all 26 shots he faced for the shutout as Yankton blanked Oahe 2-0 in peewee ‘C’ hockey action on Saturday.

Austin Wagner and Eli Kapla scored goals for Yankton.

Spencer Kelly stopped 27 shots for Oahe.
