Bucks Finish Second In State JV Boys’ Hockey Tournament

MITCHELL — The Rushmore Thunder scored the final five goals of the game after Yankton took a 2-1 lead, beating the Bucks 6-2 in the championship of the South Dakota Amateur Hockey Association JV boys’ tournament on Sunday in Mitchell.

Camden Nayman, Derrick Brown and Kaden Klapperich each scored two goals for Rushmore, with Nayman also recording two assists. Blake DeVries had two assists, and Logan Socia had one assist in the win.

Luke Schulz and Trey Bakke each scored for Yankton. Zachary Weber had an assist.

Damion White made 20 saves in goal for the win. Ryan Eichacker had 30 saves for Yankton.

YANKTON 4, SIOUX FALLS 3: Yankton advanced to the final with a 4-3 victory over Sioux Falls on Saturday.

Zachary Weber had a goal and two assists, and Caid Koletzky, Jace Kapla and Jack Schoenfelder each had a goal for Yankton. Oakley Palmer and Trey Bakke each had an assist.

Cobain Goehring had a goal and an assist for Sioux Falls. Dylan Ohling and Dylan Waxdahl also scored for the Flyers. Gabe Murphy, Zachary Bain and Alex Schaar each had an assist.

Ryan Eichacker made 24 saves in goal in the win. Tyler Breck stopped 14 shots for Sioux Falls.

 

YANKTON 4, BOJI 3: Zachary Weber scored at the 6:32 mark in overtime to lift Yankton to a 4-3 victory over Boji in the opening round on Friday.

Weber finished with two goals, and Caid Koletzky and Trey Bakke each had a goal and an assist for Yankton. Jace Kapla recorded two assists, and Jack Schoenfelder and Dillon Barger each had a goal in the win.

Drake Hettlend posted a goal and an assist for Boji. Skylar Ingraham and Max Carlson each scored a goal. Daniel Hoerichs posted two assists, and Garret Richardson and Lawton Kramer each had an assist for the Mammoths.

Ryan Eichacker made 17 saves in the win. Walker Radcliffe stopped 29 shots for the Mammoths.
