Happy New Year!! SDAHA is looking forward to 2021 and we have some great things in store for you.
South Dakota Amateur Hockey will be participating this year in the National Hockey Mom Day which is Friday, January 8th, 2021. We are looking for the “Ultimate Hockey Mom’s!”
Nominate a hockey mom in your life that you could not live without. This could be your mom, wife, sister, friend...or even yourself. Tell us why this person deserves to be recognized & what makes them amazing. Don’t be afraid to toot your own horn!! We are looking for stories of support, success, triumph, love and even a little craziness! Our SDAHA committee will read through all of the stories and select several to feature during National Hockey Mom Day on 1/8/21 on our Facebook page. There will also be some fun prizes awarded to the top nominees.
January 9th is Hockey Day South Dakota!! There are some fun & exciting games happening around the State and we encourage everyone to check out the schedule at the rink closest to you and take in a hockey game! You can visit a full list of league games on our website at www.sdaha.org. In addition there is a Bantam Tournament going on in SF at the Ice Plex and a Mite/Termite Tournament in Brookings at the Larson Ice Center. Brookings will also have some SDAHA & Ranger items they will be giving away throughout the weekend!
The Rapid City Rush will be hosting the Allen American's on Saturday Night along with the Sioux Falls Stampede hosting the Waterloo Blackhawks. SDAHA members are eligible for discounted Stampede tickets by using the following link: https://www.fevo.com/edp/Hockey-Day-South-Dakota--Sioux-Falls-Stampede-vs-Waterloo-Black-Hawks-4FxE8jS0. Tickets are just $15 & $5 from each ticket will be donated back to SDAHA so Saturday is a good day to take in a Stampede game!!
SDAHA & your local hockey association are asking for your help in wrapping up our 2020 Scholarship Raffle Fundraiser! This fundraiser is designed to jump start our Friends of SD Hockey Scholarships which will be awarded to our High School Seniors, your friends and teammates, this season at the Youth Varsity Awards Banquet. There are 109 Seniors this season (78 Boy’s & 31 Girl’s) in our 11 hockey associations. SDAHA is looking forward to awarding as many of them as possible with scholarships to help further their education. The scholarships will range from $1,000 to $2,500 so we are working hard to sell all 2000 of the tickets we have sent out to our local associations to fund these scholarships.
SDAHA is running an incentive for players to help us out with the sale of their local associations tickets now through January 8th. Any player who is willing to help out and sell 5 raffle tickets will get their name in a drawing for some great prizes. Sell 10 tickets and get two chances to win or sell 20 and get FIVE chances to win! Winners will be drawn on January 15th at the same time we draw the first winner for the raffle tickets. There are FIVE prizes that we will be giving away: (2) $100 Hockey Headquarters Gift Cards, (1) $100 Scheels Gift Card & (2) $50 Visa Gift Cards!
The Scholarship Raffle has 12 amazing prizes valued over $5000 and offers purchasers 12 chances to win for Only $20! We hope you consider helping us sell a few tickets to support this great cause, your teammates, your association and the future Seniors in SDAHA. Please contact your association’s SDAHA fundraising coordinator to check out tickets and earn your chance at winning some great prizes.

Sioux Center will have a table set up at the rink on the following dates where their Seniors & their families will be selling tickets. Jan 3 – 8:30am to 12:30pm , Jan 4 – 5:00pm to 9:00pm , Jan 5 – 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Jan 6 – 5:00pm to 9:00pm , Jan 7 – 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Jan 9 – 9:45am to 6:00pm & Jan 10 – 8:30am to 12:30pm!!
Sioux Falls has a table set up during the weekend games at the Ice Plex or you may contact Cherry Hunter for tickets.
Watertown has tickets available through Lucas Deutsch or by contacting a Board Member.

One last thing....It's not too early to start planning for the 2021 State Tournaments. Here is a list of the dates and locations.
